Humpy Koneru of India emerged winner of the FIDE Women Grand Prix in Ankara and secured the second place in the overall Grand Prix Series behind the reigning World Champion Hou Yifan.

Winner of the GP Series gets the right to challenge the World Champion to a match in 2013. If Hou Yifan defends her title in the World Championship in Khanty-Mansiysk in December 2012, then Koneru becomes the challenger for 2013.
